Look at actual samples of power curve chart and see the basic Power development that MORIWAKI exhaust system is designed to obtain. The top chart shows horse power comparison between @Std, AMORIWAKI proto and BMORIWAKI mass production exhaust. And bottom chart shows speed comparison of those 3 exhausts.

The proto exhaust has the highest peak in horse power among three, but the mass production one has steadier and relatively high horse power at all area.

The speed comparison chart clearly shows that the MORIWAKI mass production exhaust reaches any objective speed faster than other two.

The peak power can be most important sometime but what MORIWAKI’s basic concept of exhaust system development is to assure motorcycle speed in practical use.
・Material selection and optimum design
Titanium, Stainless steel, Iron and Aluminum… there are different kinds of metals used in MORIWAKI mass production exhaust systems and brackets. Processability, vibration proof, heat resistance, weight reduction and product appearance are considered when those materials are selected, however, we choose materials and design products to assure the 2 most important features; Safety and Product strength in possible operation environment.
Understand characteristics of materials, make calculation and analysis, MORIWAKI selects material from dozens of choices to produce most suitable exhaust system for each motorcycle.
After the most suitable material is selected, we operate our production efficiently while maintaining constant and steady product quality.

・Welding quality
“Welding process” is one of production processes gives the most strain on metals among dozens of others.
In order to maximize original characteristics and strength of materials, MORIWAKI introduces high quality welding in our exhaust system production. Welding specialists carry out the operation with meticulous care.

Experienced and skilled welding operators show their technique at intricate welding where automated welding machine cannot operate. Taking MORIWAKI brand in their work, they draw welding bead as good as automated machine, and assuring outstanding welding strength.
・Development concept and machine controllability
The basic concept of MORIWAKI exhaust development is to increase the motorcycle power in all rev. It is not to develop a difficult handling required “peaky” characteristic which revving up sharply at certain rev range.

Although, “high horsepower” is obtained by an exhaust system, if it makes “peaky” power curve, it will make riders difficult to control throttle at marginal area to practice steady sliding control or active weight shifting.
“Flat power curve” sometime translated to “No taste”, but MORIWAKI believes “Powerful Flat” is really the characteristic that brings steadiness and high controllability in various aspects, resulting fast lap time.

When the “Powerful Flat” characteristic synchronizes with the rider’s mind and throttle movement is transmitted precisely, the exhaust system becomes a real sport exhaust.
・Cost performance
By implementing thorough control of cost and production systems, MORIWAKI has been putting its effort to provide reasonable product prices for customers to be able to experience and enjoy the road race blood hi-performance motorcycle parts easily and more frequently.

・Noise and Emission control
As many types of motorcycles from many different years are sold in the market, MORIWAKI has provided most suitable exhaust systems in line with the times. MORIWAKI street exhaust systems have high total-performance with sufficient vibration proof and strength for customers to enjoy customizing their motorcycles with legality.

As a member of JMCA (Japan Motorcycle Accessories Association), MORIWAKI has actively promoted and exercised voluntary restraint on noise level and emission control, and always be conscious to develop exhaust systems that meet the Traffic Law requirement.
JMCA requirements differ depend on motorcycle production year and types.
TYPE 1 TYPE 2
Applicable to motorcycles manufactured before the implementation of 1998 noise regulation
Near exhaust noise level: 99dB or lower
Applicable to motorcycles manufactured after the implementation of 1998 noise regulation
Near exhaust noise level: 99dB or lower
TYPE 3 TYPE 4
Applicable to motorcycles subject to 1998/1999 emission control regulation
○ Standard exhaust system does not have a catalyzer
○ Near exhaust noise level: 99dB or lower
Applicable to motorcycles subject to 1998/1999 emission control and 2001 noise regulation
○ Standard exhaust system does not have a catalyzer
○ Near exhaust noise level: 94dB or lower
TYPE 5 TYPE 6
Applicable to motorcycles subject to 1998/1999 emission control regulation
○ Standard exhaust system has a catalyzer
○ Near exhaust noise level: 99dB or lower
○ Official “Emission test report” is required for motorcycle registration
Applicable to motorcycles subject to 1998/1999 emission control and 2001 noise regulation
○ Standard exhaust system has a catalyzer
○ Near exhaust noise level: 94dB or lower

・Road race and Product development
Often theory doesn’t work in race.
It doesn’t mean that theory and analysis aren’t necessary but “Race” is always the experimental field for MORIWAKI to carry out trial and error, and learn.
For more than 30years, MORIWAKI has continued its race activities at forefront and conducted own product development activities under the such extreme environment.
Enormous number of test result and data obtained from race activities are passed into MORIWAKI exhaust systems and other products certainly. They are reexamined to design street use products. MORIWAKI brings “absolute performance and safety well-balanced” products to customers.
